With desert temps once again flirting with 100 degrees and the feel of a playoff game in the air due to the  importance of
the game for both teams. The game started off that way as well with hard action from the start, Ventura came on in the
22nd minute as Arthur Aghasyan managed to get one passed the Rattlers keeper Zach Brunner to take an early lead.
That lead was very short lived as in the 38th minute Rattler Forward Jose Garay  picked up a loose ball off a Fusion
player and shot a rocket passed the Fusion keeper Bryan Hill to the back of the net and knotted the score at one a
piece. The first 45 minutes of action ended with a tie score 1-1.

The first half of play was controlled by the Ventura team as it ended with the Fusion taking 10 shots on goal to
Lancaster's 4. The second 45 started off the same way, the Fusion came out strong and it showed they were competing
for a playoff spot as in the 50th minute Ventura's Chirisian Magop broke though the middle of the defense and with a
couple of moves found himself in the goal mouth and easily slipped it in behind keeper Brunner and took the lead once
again.

The Rattlers weren't done yet, as they started taking control after the second goal by Ventura, the Rattlers started to
show what the team is made of as they put the pressure on Ventura with a number of shots and backing the Fusion up
into the own zone. For the next 30 minutes of play Lancaster started to take control, as they pressured the Fusion with
more and more shots.  Lancaster's Moises Alvarez who came into the game replacing Carlos Aguilar in the 59th min.

With score tied at two and the Ventura Fusion needing all three points in this game
started to pickup the momentum themselves.  In the last 10 minutes the Fusion took 7 of
there 10 shots on goal for the half. With a feeling of urgency from the Ventura team
they pressured heavily in the last 10 minutes but Keeper Brunner came up big for the
Rattlers as he stooped several direct shots. When in stoppage time Brunner found
himself alone with two attackers coming directly to the goal and with in the 18,
Ventura's Midfielder Chirision Magop and forward Avesyan worked a combination to
the net and as Magop pulled Brunner to the right side of the net he quickly placed a
perfect pass to Avesyan on the left changing the direction of the attack Brunner
with speed changed his position and came off his line  to meet Avesyan and spoil their
attack. Then just 2 minutes later Fusions forward Anthony Hamilton took a shot headed to
the upper net as Brunner  tipped the ball up and over the net to preserve the 2-2 tie.
